If magazines and social media are anything to go by then Summer is the month where people want get to lean and eat fresh but truth be told I go the other way! Between my birthday in June and the longer nights my usual healthy meal prep takes a bit of a backseat along with my exercise routine. As the warmer nights are now disappearing and people around me already seem to be getting some sniffles, I want to make sure I am eating as many vitamins as possible.
So that’s where FRAW smoothies step in, single portioned frozen fruit and veg mixes ready to be blended with a superfood sachet and your preferred plant based milk – so simple even the sleepiest person can create the perfect morning smoothie! Want to know more? I thought you might…
There are currently 3 flavours available all containing 2 of your 5 a day, no added sugar, high fibre and a source of omega 3 to kick start your mornings.
Cleanse: Pineapple, Mango, Spinach, Kale, Avocado & Ginger – boosted with flax seed, Moringa, Wheatgrass, Spirulina
Energise: Strawberry, Banana, Pomegranate, Blueberry & Acai – boosted with flax seed, Cacao, Maca, Guarana
Immunity: Mango, Peach, Banana, Carrot, Sweet Potato & Coconut – boosted with flax seed, Baobab, Turmeric, Ginger
To be honest Cleanse was my least favourite as I am not the greatest fan of a green juice but I have to admit I felt smugly healthy while sipping away.
Energise was more typical of the type of smoothie I would opt for and gave me a fruity boost – this could be just in my head but it definitely passed the taste test anyways.
Immunity was my absolute favourite! Why on earth have I never put sweet potato in my smoothie?!? It was sweet, fruity and creamy – I will definitely be buying more of this one.
Each smoothie also comes with its own colourful cup and straw which are both 100% recyclable. I know this may seem unnecessary as so many blenders now come with their own cups which you can take on the move (I thought this too) but actually these cups are genius. So firstly, they have a fill line so you know exactly how much liquid to use without the guesswork or measuring. Secondly, it means no more carrying about a dirty smoothie cup in your bag all day as you can just pop these in a recycling bin when done.
Also I think we are all guilty of letting spinach go soggy at some point but these frozen mixes allow you to enjoy a variety of fruits and veggies without worrying about leftovers going to waste. The superfood sachets save you forking out for big bags of individual powders, saving you money and a lot of cupboard space too.
Could you create these mixes at home to freeze yourself? Of course you could but this is all about convenience, as FRAW say on their website “you’ve got better things to do on your weekends then hunt down wheatgrass”! Personally I think these are great for those rushed mornings or the end of the working week when you are running low on fresh fruit and vegetables.

*FRAW provided me with products to share my thoughts via this blog post and the incentivised code GEMS15, meaning I receive a percentage of sales made using this code. As always, I pinky promise any thoughts are entirely my own! I have never and will never recommend any products that I wouldn’t happily buy for myself, friends and family.
