Jacques brings vegan fondue to Glasgow!

Say Cheese! Vegan cheese fondue is now available in Glasgow thanks to the newly opened Jacques in Finnieston.

I was invited along to their launch night and I have to admit I had very high expectations…

I love a good bit of interior design and oh my this place is dreamy with the bar with exposed brick and a giant fairy lit oak tree taking centre stage.

The champagne was flowing with chatty staff topping up my glass all night long. The drinks menu has you covered no matter your tipple of choice with a great selection of beers from all around the world, creative cocktails and goblets of gin.

We were treated to cheese fondue made with a mix of vegan mozzarella, cheddar and potato which was so thick and creamy. We dunked in chunks of bread, vegetables and we may have dunked in some frites too. I am the first to admit vegan cheese can be hit or miss but this was absolutely delicious.

Cheese not your thing? They also do a vegan chocolate fondue too!

No to fondue, firstly eh what?! Anyways, more vegan eats are available such the chickpea burger or the seitain sausage served with frites and mushroom gravy.

So just to summarise; vegan cheese, chocolate and goblets of gin! So if you are looking for me this weekend then it is likely you will find me in a food coma, gin in hand under a fairy lit oak tree… Think Enid Blyton’s Faraway Tree taking a bad turn.

Seriously though if you are looking for the perfect date night location or somewhere to get your cheese fix then get yourself to Jacques, you won’t be disappointed.

If you enjoyed this post then make sure to follow me on Instagram for all my greedy adventures.

Big Loves,

Gems x
