Dr.Botanicals kindly sent me some skincare products that I hoped would help soften my skin in time for Spring.
Dr.Botanicals are not only a certified PETA brand, cruelty-free and 100% vegan brand but they are also toxic free and made using mostly natural ingredients (99.9% to 100% depending on product!).
We all know drinking enough water and eating nutritious food is essential for glowing skin so I thought it made sense to introduce superfoods into my skincare too.
Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator
I have quite sensitive skin (#gingerproblems) so I had to be careful not to scrub too hard as this exfoliator was packed with walnut shell powder to remove pesky dry skin. As the name suggests, the scrub also contains coffee oil that not only makes it smell amazing but is full of antioxidants too. As a coffee addict, this definitely gets a big thumbs up from me!
Kale Superfood Nourishing Day Moisturiser
Kale is high in vitamins C and E which are both known to be great for glowing skin. This was really lightweight so soaked in fast, exactly what you want from a day moisturiser. The only downside is that it didn’t contain SPF so I had to remember to apply a separate product.
Artichoke Superfood Firming Night Moisturiser
As I’ve entered my thirties, anti ageing skincare products have become increasingly attractive to me. As well as antioxidant packed artichokes, this moisturiser contains grape seed oil which full of fatty acids to help naturally plump skin. This felt just as lightweight as the day product which is unusual as I am used to thick night creams.
Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil
I have been a fan of rose face oils for years and I love that this one has no hidden nasties. This oil came in different packaging to the rest, a glass bottle with floral pattern and a dropper for application to prevent spillage which was handy as this was thinner than others I have I tried. I found the subtle rose smell quite relaxing so it quickly became a favourite part of my nighttime routine. I always notice a difference in my skin when I consistently use rose oil so I would recommend giving this a try if you are looking to buy a new face oil.
I’ve been using these products for nearly a month and my skin is feeling really soft and smooth so clearly they doing something right! Have you tried adding superfoods to your skincare? Let me know in comments.
