Elfingrove

This Christmas Kelvingrove Museum has been transformed into Elfingrove!

So what is Elfingrove? Essentially a Christmas themed night at the museum with festive fun, silent snow disco and street food – now how good does that sound?!?

I literally jumped with excitement when I received an invite to go along as a cross between “Natural History Museum Alive” with David Attenborough with added bonus of festive fun is a total dream. If you haven’t watched this documentary then you definitely should.

But did it live up to my high expectations or were the less than nice reviews from first night right…

The adventure began by entering Kelvingrove after hours, the stairs were split into naughty side or nice and I was directed to nice side. Obviously.

I don’t want to post any spoilers but once inside we were guided round the museum discovering characters as we went along, including a dinosaur so I was delighted. Some of the elf entertainment was much more for the kids but that is to be expected at such a family oriented event.

Afterwards we stepped outside into a winter wonderland!

Having fun can work up quite an appetite but thankfully we had some of Glasgow’s best street food on offer to fill us up; churros from Loop and Scoop,  burgers and loaded fries from Freddy & Hicks, Nomad Pizza and vegan hot dogs too. I got a delicious wood fired pizza with truffle mushrooms, roasted peppers and red onion.

Marshmallowland from Glasglow is back! A fairy-lit world dedicated entirely to Marshmallows with vegan mallow skewers available to toast round a firepit.

The Candy Bar offers a good selection to have a tipple or two. A large tent with fire pits and Christmas music playing was the ideal setting to enjoy my cocktail.

You can also buy an add on ticket to get access to the Silent Snow Disco. This is no ordinary disco as you enter a giant snow globe, yes a giant snow globe.

In true Christmas Spirit, itison has launched The Elfingrove Legacy Fund (E.L.F) to give back to the community by donating 1000 tickets to good causes across Glasgow.

If you fancy visiting then you had better act quick as only limited tickets available.

You can follow me on Instagram for lots more Festive fun and giveaways in the run up to Christmas.

Big Christmas Hugs,

Gems x

*I was kindly invited to Elfingrove and The Silent Snow Disco but with absolutely  no obligation to post.
